January 18, 1798

Christian born in Dauphin, Pennsylvania to Peter Whitmer, Sr., and Mary Musselman Whitmer, their first child.

1809

The Whitmer family moves to Fayette, New York, where they work a large farm.

February 22, 1825

Christian marries Ann Schott (1801–1866) in Fayette, New York.

June, 1829

Joseph Smith moves to Fayette, New York to continue the translation at the home of Christian’s father, Peter Whitmer Sr.

The Eight Witnesses, including Christian, see the golden plates and testify of the book’s truth.

Joseph Smith finishes translating the Book of Mormon at the Whitmer home.

April, 1830

The Church is formally organized in Fayette, New York.

Christian and Ann are baptized on April 11, 1830

1831

Christian and Ann move to Kirtland, Ohio with other members of the Church.

1832

Christian and Ann move with his extended family to Jackson County, Missouri.

By 1835

Christian and Ann have relocated to Far West, Missouri

Christian is on the High Council.

November 27, 1835

Christian dies because of health problems, leaving no children.

His widow, Ann, eventually returns to Fayette, New York.
