I read the Book of Mormon cover to cover on my own for the first time in the summer of 2007, while I was living away from home working as a youth counselor at a Boy Scout camp. After finishing the book, I found a private place in the woods where I could pray and ask God if the Book of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith truly was a Prophet of God. Immediately after concluding my prayer, I experienced a powerful, peaceful, deeply spiritual feeling and in that moment I knew by the revelations of God directly to my soul that the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith is a genuine prophet of God, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true, and that Jesus Christ really is my Savior and Redeemer. I have had many other spiritual experiences since that time that have confirmed, deepened, and expanded my witness of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and its message. I know that it is true.
